Cookie notice
Last updated 2 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Surefer only uses cookies and browser storage that the site needs to work, so we don’t show a cookie banner or ask for consent. We don’t use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and no other company sets cookies on surefer.co.uk.
Cookies we set
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
hmr_visitor | Set only when you ask for a referral. Holds a random code so you keep the same referral for 30 minutes and only your browser can open it. We store only a one-way hash of the code. | 24 hours |
sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in if you have an account. Large sessions may be split across several cookies ending .0, .1 and so on. | Until you sign out, or up to 400 days |
sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Secures the sign-up confirmation and password reset links we email you, and signing in with Google. | Until the link is used |
hmr_draft_signup | If sign-up fails, remembers the email and display name you typed, so you don’t have to type them again. Never your password. | 5 minutes |
hmr_draft_login | If sign-in fails, remembers the email address you typed. Never your password. | 5 minutes |
hmr_draft_dash_… | If a dashboard form can’t be saved, remembers what you typed (such as a referral link or display name) so you don’t lose it. | 5 minutes |
Browser storage
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
sf-ack:… | Remembers that you’ve read a referral’s conditions, so the code stays shown if you reload the page. | Until you close the tab |
Visit statistics
We count visits and measure how quickly pages load with our hosting provider, Vercel. This doesn’t use cookies or store anything in your browser, and it never includes account or admin pages. See our privacy notice for what’s collected.
Payments
If you buy paid membership, you pay on a page run by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process payments and prevent fraud; see Stripe’s cookie policy.
Why we don’t ask for consent
The law lets websites use cookies without consent when they’re strictly necessary to provide a service you’ve asked for, such as signing in or keeping the referral you requested. All of ours are. If we ever add other cookies, we’ll update this page and ask first where the law requires it.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, you won’t be able to sign in, and you may be given a different referral each time you ask.
